**Have you ever wished others would love you unconditionally? Do YOU love yourself unconditionally? That’s what shadow work is all about. It’s about acknowledging the parts of you that you may have suppressed, ignored, or disowned. By shining a light on these hidden parts, you will gain greater self-awareness and understanding. (**Going a step further and completely accepting these parts of yourself is where the power lies. We will be exploring this more in section 2.)
This lesson will probably be the toughest lesson in the course. You can get through it! Be gentle with yourself.
Answer the following questions to uncover your shadow parts and begin the process of integration and healing.
Questions
Reflect on a time when you felt a strong emotional reaction, such as anger, fear, or sadness.
What triggered this reaction?
What underlying beliefs or insecurities may have contributed to it?
Think about recurring patterns of behaviour or thought that you've noticed in yourself.
Are there any behaviours or thought patterns that you tend to judge or criticize in yourself or others?
Consider the feedback or criticisms you've received from others in the past.
